Photography Assignment #2

In this assignment we were asked to go around campus and take portraits, then to photoshop them, and upload 3 of your favorite ones. So her they are!

I love this photo, because of the way Cassie stands out in it. I think it is really cool how the MVHS sign is in the back round. And the fact that it is taken from father away.

This is a cool portrait because the way it was shot. I like how you cant really see her face.

Okay, so this is a cool picture because I like how there is a little bit of color but not really, and the way the picture was tilted upwards.

Photography Assignment

So, now in my journalism class we are learning about photography. Our assignment was to find 3 portraits, post the pictures and explain why we like them....

<--- I love this portrait because the colors contrast really well together, and it all looks very smooth.

<--- I love the colors in this picture, they all stand out really well

<---- This picture is great. It shows how free spirited kids are.

<--- This picture looks very natural and happy. It's ver plain... put a good plain :)

<--- This picture reminds me of the good all days, when you got to go pick out a treat if you where a good girl or boy at the dentist... great times.

<--- This picture cracks me up. The kid looks like his/her eyes are going to pop out of his/her head! It looks like the kido is very fasinated with the camera.

Assignment #4

Agenda-Setting:
Agenda-Setting I think is pretty much taking over. I feel like magazines, news papers, or any
form of media choose what they think is news; and it controls kinda what the viewers think is
news because thats all they are seeing or reading.
I think that some shows and magazines just focus on dramatic events. For instants, The Today
Show mainly focuses celebrity drama and affairs, but they still do add world affairs, but not as
much as i would like it too. CNN really grasps world wide news. They cover good stories, and how
people are making a difference in the world. Local shows cover local news. They don't focus on
how many affairs Tiger Woods has had.
I think that maybe some stations need to focus a little more on what's really important
rather than Britney Spears. If they did that maybe people would start to care more about the
world instead of how they are going to do there hair the next day. Come on focus on the important
stuff!

Role Models

OR

Whenever I turn the corner in the grocery store, there is always a new tabloid magazine documenting what ever the new 'it' girl did. When you open up the magazine pictures of teen celebrities with 25-year-old boyfriends, hanging out in nigh clubs, drinking, doing drugs, while wearing a dress the size of my shirt. Do teens these days look up to this?
Well, I hope not! Being a teenager comes with a lot of peer pressure. If our peers look up to these people then how do avoid the temptation of drugs, partying, and drinking? Why do the tabloids have to publish all of these pictures and stories? If they just stop all of the bad press then maybe tabloid queens will clean up there act a little, and America's little devils well change back to America's little angles.
Miley Cyrus... what can I say... she has changed a lot, she's truly become the new Paris Hilton. She dances on stripper poles while riding an ice-cream truck. Her boobs hang out, she takes picture of herself in barley nothing at all. What happened, she us to be a good girl. I guess Cobra Starship and Rhianna were right... good girls go bad.
A good example of a role model is Taylor Swift. Some people might noy like her music, but i think she is amazing. You never see her in the middle of a tabloid war. She repects herself enough that she avoids making herself look like a 'bad girl'. She's not conceted, she doesn't think she is all that. Instead of going to night clubs everynight she is at home baking caramel deleight cookies. She is a great role model for little girls. She shows them it is 100% okay to be yourself.
Celebrities need to clean up there act. People need to stop buying magazines unless they have a postive cover. The world needs a little more Taylor Swifts in it. So girls come on and see the truth... Miley Cyrus should not be a role model. Who do you want your little girl to end up like?

Assignment #2

Getting Up Early For School: Personally i think it pointless to wake up early to go to school at 7:45 in the morning. I think that school shouldn't start till at least 9:00 a.m. I would rather sleep in and stay in school till a little later in the day. It is scientifically proven that it is harder for teens to go to sleep at nine o'clock, which is causing students to be under stress because they can't sleep. So come on schools let us get our sleep!
Role Models: Why do celebrities have to go out to clubs to drink and dress in tiny little dresses? I mean come on, you guys are suppose to be role models. For example... Miley Cyrus, she is a complete fake. She goes from being a sweet little girl who dresses in glittery outfittes to becoming a girl who wears dresses the size of a tee-shirt. Seriously guys, do you want future America to be like that?
Freshman Rules: Okay, it's not fair that upper class-men get to go out for lunch and the freshmen don't. It doesn't make since, we have feet and legs why can't we walk some where and be back in 40 minutes! If were not back in time it's our fault, just give us our tardy and let us be! Most of the freshman do it anyway, so why not cut the hassle?
I-Pods: Why can't we use them in school? At least let us use them when we are doing 'by ourself' assignments. I get that people don't want students to be distracted when they are working but sometimes it helps people concentrate.
Sport rules: I think that when you are gone for the week you should not be able to play in school activities, like sports. It's not fair to the players who show up to practice and work hard to improve, while others don't even try to attend practice. So let us enforce these rules to make the game more fair. If you don't play them in a game, maybe the player will start to show up to practice.
